Another ski season is coming to an end this weekend, finishing up with new snow on the Snowmass Ski area! We skied Saturday and had several amazing runs with 4 inches of new untracked snow. And, there’s more in the forecast for this week! We are getting teased with beautiful warm days and then experience a quick reality check when we wake up to a blanket of white. This is springtime in the Rockies. We love this time of year. You can ski or skin up in the morning and ride your bike in the afternoon.
There were zero new cases of Covid reported here in Pitkin County in the last few days. Vaccines are now open to all adults. We remain cautiously optimistic that we’ll enjoy a much more active summer.
Real estate sales continue to boom. Check out the record-breaking numbers in the report below. The number of sales is actually starting to go down, only because there is not much available inventory left. Many properties are selling prior to even hitting the market. This is when our partnerships with the Sotheby’s brokers as well as long-term friendly relationships with outside brokers become increasingly valuable, enabling me to hear about “pocket listings” before they even hit the MLS. This seems to be the primary means of finding inventory at this point in time. So, if you’re considering purchasing a property in the Roaring Fork Valley, it’s more important than ever to be in close communication.

2021 Q1 Market Report
While 2020 started off at a fairly normal pace, it was quickly shut down by COVID at the end of March. When comparing 2020 to 2021, we see the high demand for single-family homes throughout the entire valley. Snowmass Village topped the charts in growth with an increase of 339% in total sales volume.
2021 Q1 Market Dominance
Even with the downward trend of the Aspen Snowmass listing inventory, we continue to dominate our region in both the overall and luxury markets. In the first quarter of 2021 as well as for the past 20 years, we were able to assist more sellers and buyers with their real estate needs than any other brokerage firm in the Roaring Fork Valley. For the last three years, we have accomplished more than 2.5x the business of our #2 competitor and 2.9x more than our #3 competitor.
