The ski season is now officially underway with an early opening--the day before Thanksgiving!

The local real estate market continues to break records. The sales volume chart below shows the details about what we are currently experiencing. YTD 2020 we have already closed $2.7 billion with another $700 million currently under contract and due to close soon. We are on course to double last year which was a total of $1.4 billion.

Why the increase in sales? We’ve been seeing a trend with the 2nd homeowners spending more time here as well as many others leaving urban areas and making the Roaring Fork Valley their new permanent home. When I look out my window here in Snowmass this evening, the mountain is dotted with lights on everywhere. That is not typical for this early in the season.

Due to Covid-19 the Aspen Skiing Company has put in place several safety protocols to keep the ski areas open and the skiers as safe as possible. There is currently no reservation system in place. Check their link for the most updated details for on-mountain protocol.

Pitkin County is now in the “orange” level. We are working hard to keep the number of cases down. Restaurants, retail, gyms and business remain open but at a limited capacity. Restaurants are capped at 25% capacity for indoor seating. We are keeping a low profile, working mostly from home and recreating outdoors away from others.
